Isn't she lovely?

So this is my beautiful wife at miniature golf last night. Yes. My wife! We've been in St. Augustine, FL for our honeymoon at a Bed and Breakfast and it has been fantastic! It's so fun to be able to share everything with your best friend every day! More later.

Becoming southern....

So, I'm becoming southern.

I landed a job working for Nascar.
No, I have never watched more than 3 minutes at a time of a race.
No, I only know the #8 and #24 cars.
No, my soon-to-be wife doesn't like it.

But I'll be doing maintenance on the buildings that Michael Waltrip and Dale Jarret work in and their visitor's center.

I guess you can begin to call me redneck.

In addition, I've learned a few southern phrases this weekend:
"I'm fixin' to do that" - in the north we say fixin' in relation to work getting done, not future work.
"You mind well?" - i guess it's asking if i listen/obey well, from what i'm told.
"I might could" - still haven't figured that one out.
"Going 90 to nothin" - i guess it means going non-stop.

We'll have to see if I adapt many--or any--of these phrases.

But, i will adapt the love for the sun and warm weather....even though i know ya'll have put the fear in me about the summer heat.

9 days till the wedding! Candice and i can't wait!

Completed

The move is complete. I am now living on the same street at my fiance'! After a 10 hour drive on Monday, I arrived at Candice's front door around 5 pm. It has been so fantastic being here with Candice and not being in Michigan. I just am still amazed how wonderful the weather appears to be in the South....unreal!

Changes.....

Sadly, I won't sing the rap version by Tupac. That's only for Candice....and maybe anyone that asks..... :)

But.....

The past few days have been pretty significant days in my life. On Friday, I finished my tenure as maintenance director at the Best Western hotel....and what a good feeling that was after 2 1/2 years! That night I met my parents for dinner at a Bob Evans and gave them a few material goods back for preparing my move yesterday! Saturday was my final day at my house of just over 2 years. The house still has a few things that are completely finished....but it is good enough for someone to move in! Not only did it snow about 6" the night before, but I got stuck in my driveway as I was trying to leave my house! So, a nice guy from down the street came to help me push out......I will absolutely not miss the snow when I finally arrive to my destination of Candice's house tomorrow night! Even though my house hasn't sold yet, there is an element of relief that feels so good--knowing that I will not be working on it any more!

Last night was a bachelor party with basketball, basketball, and more basketball, and some food in the middle. It was so great to spend time with some of my closest friends over the past 8 years. Jeff bought me an orange beanie and some swimming goggles that I had to wear while playing basketball at the rec center (the goggles didn't last long since they hindered my peripheral vision...if that's how you spell that...). I was hard to miss....we'll say that!

Tomorrow is my decent to be with my bride-to-be (in the picture during a shower a week ago!). I am so excited to not have to be apart anymore.....to not have to fly alone anymore.....to not talk on the phone for hours each night.....to not see Candice's face for 18 days.....it's going to be great!
