Recipe to fill the stomach....

I've been encouraged a few times to share my cooking skills with the rest of the world. Now, don't get too grossed out by my food combinations because this actually tasted good when I ate it.

2 packages of ramen noodles (beef flavored)
1 can of corn (if you have mixed veggies, that works better)
10 chopped up baby carrots
2 cans of tuna
1/2 cup of salsa (gives it that tomato base)
Add anything else leftover in the cupboard/fridge!

Put it in a pot and let the stove do the work, stirring occasionally.
It should feed a hungry male for 2-3 meals, depending on how much he can ingest at one time.
Enjoy!

My girl....

I just have to say that Candice is the most amazing woman I have ever met and it's a pure pleasure and dream to be in relationship with her. There are things she does and says that will never be fully known by all, but she is phenomenal. I know those who know her feel much the same way. And today is our three month anniversary....how romantic! ;)

She's anything BUT typical

As advertised, it was a great weekend spent with my beautiful girlfriend, Candice! Some things never change--like time going too fast when we are together, Candice's loving character, continual drinking of tropical punch, the Wolverines and Tigers (at least this year) winning, and the Lions losing. Candice and I had the chance to see my parents on Saturday since they were only about 45 minutes away and grab lunch at Applebee's (thanks mom and dad), and then see our friends, Joe and Molly, and their new house. Candice and I had some great quality time on Sunday just doing typical things that couples dating get to do--go to church, have lunch together, relax outside, do some shopping, make dinner together, watch tv, and we even had a chance to work on my house (Candice was very willing to help and did an exceptional job in helping hang a few sheets of drywall--2 of which were on the ceiling. She's pretty good with the power tools!). Anyway, it's always nice to try to have some time where we aren't always on the go, but where we can just enjoy the company of each other and continue to grow in our relationship. Then we were up at 4:15 this morning cause Candice flew out at 6:20! She is still in the air as we speak but will be home at noon today. Thanks for coming, Candice!

Oh, and it's great to be a Michigan Wolverine alumni (we whipped the Spartans this weekend), a Detroit Tiger fan (the Yankees were dethroned again!! I hate the Yankees), but not a Detroit Lion fan (they lost again in the 4th quarter...again....5 straight to start the season!).

Another great weekend

It's another great weekend because my girl, Candice, is coming up to visit! We found a flight online for a pretty good discount, so we made an unscheduled date for this weekend! I don't know if I'll know what to do with myself when I see Candice for two weekends in a row (she comes next weekend, too!). Friday can never be a bad day when your girlfriend is coming the next day!

On another note, Joel, Tim, Ty, and I put up some more siding yesterday, so there is probably only about 120 square feet of siding left to go on the house (there was about 1000 square feet originally)! It is looking great and there has even been some progress on the drywall in the porch area. On Tuesday, I had Ty grab his truck to go pick up some drywall from the Home Depot. I realized I needed 16 sheets of it in lengths of 8', 10', and 12'. And some insulation. When we began loading his Ford Ranger, we became low-riders very quickly. I've never seen a truck sit so low in my life. The tires were beginning to drop. So, I had suggested we make two trips to make sure we wouldn't pop a tire, I went inside to put the order on will call--and this lady typed in the computer for at least 10 minutes to print out a sheet when I would have been back in 20 to pick the rest up. At the same time, Ty and I are running short on time cause basketball was starting soon. Ty came in, said let's just take the whole load, I had to wait 2 more minutes to print out a sheet saying I picked up the materials that I had never left yet, and then we prayed the whole two miles home going about 15 mph and leaning forward. It was somewhat of a nervous ride. But, thankfully we made it and the cathedral ceiling is already half done with drywall! It was quite a ghetto trip and we heard plenty of car horns!

And finally there is siding!

Siding has finally begun on my house! On Sunday, Joe and Molly came to side one wall, and yesterday, mom and dad and Tim helped on two more walls! What a great feeling to see a house that is nearly sided in two days. At times when I drive by now I rarely recognize the house. We picked a color called "wicker" (it's pretty much almond) and it matches quite well to the roof of the house. I hope you all like the pictures as much as I do! Thanks so much to all those who have already helped and who will soon be helping! Praise God for taking away the rain yesterday afternoon so that we could work.
